Scott McCreless

In 1992, Scott joined the Rome YMCA as the Physical Director and managed its fitness programs, day camp and soccer programs. Grizzard Park, our youth sports complex, was built in 1997 and with Scott's leadership, Arsenal Rome Soccer grew into a major youth development program of the Rome Y. In 2007, Scott was promoted to Executive Director. Under his direction, the Rome YMCA has grown in membership, member programs, youth sports programs, and community-based programs and community partnerships. Scott graduated from West Georgia College with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, with a concentration in Corporate Health. He holds numerous nationally recognized YMCA certifications including Organizational Leadership and Team Leadership. In addition to his responsibilities as the Executive Director, Scott coaches several teams in the Arsenal Rome Soccer program and holds a National Youth Soccer license from the U.S. Youth Soccer Association, as well as E, F and D coaching licenses.


Jackie Abrams


Maintenance Director

Jackie joined the Rome YMCA in 2016 and is responsible for the maintenance and grounds at our main YMCA location on 2nd Avenue.  He is a native Roman and graduated from East Rome High School.  He has an HVAC certification and 25 years experience working in Maintenance.  Jackie joined us after serving at Northwest Georgia Regional, Berry College, Wright Metal, and OTR.


Derek Bell


Grizzard Park Maintenance Director

Derek joined the Rome YMCA in 2014 and is responsible for the operations and grounds of Grizzard Park. He graduated from LaGrange College with a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Design. While at LaGrange, he played soccer and studied extensively in weightlifting and plyometrics, specifically speed training, after a career ending injury. Derek earned a Master of Fine Arts in the Studio Arts from Louisiana State University and served as an adjunct professor of photography at LSU and an assistant professor of photography at The Art Institute of Atlanta. Derek has worked as an art gallery manager, in film and was the lead designer on The Gateway to Rome project, that welcomes visitors at U.S. 411 and U.S. 27 in Rome Georgia. Gallery Director for Arts Without Borders Lead designer of The Gateway to Rome Production Assistant and Lead Photographer for National Geographic television series, “Hard Time”.


Cheryl Bishop

Cheryl joined the Rome YMCA in 2012, with over 25 years of experience in banking in Rome and surrounding communities. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Shorter University and earned a Master of Business Administration form Berry College. Cheryl also holds a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.


Fernando De Barros

Fernando joined the Rome YMCA and the Arsenal Rome Soccer staff in 2019. He has over five years of coaching experience. including two years at the collegiate level. Fernando also played in college and professionally for Centro Italo Venezolano in Caracas Venezuela. Fernando holds both a BBA in Management Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration from Shorter University. He holds a USSF National "D" Coaching license. 


Warren Gibson

Warren joined the Rome YMCA in 2013 to manage our day camp and basketball programs, with over 25 years experience in sales. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing from Shorter University and has received professional training as an anger management specialist. Warren also mentors children in our after school program at Restoration Rome.


Jennifer Jolly

Jennifer joined the Rome YMCA in 2018 with 13 years of experience working with families and individuals in all life stages, from birth to retirement. She graduated from Berry College and holds a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Counseling and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. From the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University, Jennifer earned the professional designation of Trust Based Relational Intervention Practitioner. She also holds a Lifetime School Counselor Certification from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).


Lucas Levesque

Lucas joined the Rome YMCA in 2017 as the Director of Soccer. Prior to coming to Rome he was the Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Women's Soccer Coach at the University of Maine in Fort Kent. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Thomas College in Waterfield Maine and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Leadership Studies from the University of Southern Maine. Lucas holds United Soccer Coaches National and Advanced National Coaching Diplomas

Stephanie came to the Rome YMCA in 2013 with over 20 years experience in marketing and development for non-profit organizations. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech with a major in Finance and a minor in Business Writing, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Strategic Planning from the University of Alabama. From the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University, Stephanie was awarded the professional designation of Trust Based Relational Intervention Practitioner.


Lincee Powell

Lincee began her career at the Rome YMCA in 1998 as a high school student working part-time in childcare and then as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor. She has also served as a Day Camp Counselor, Kinder Camp Director and Front Desk Manager. She has vast experience as a group fitness instructor, having taught classes for over 18 years. Lincee currently serves as Director of Group Fitness and Childcare. In addition to her experience at the Rome YMCA, Lincee worked as a Program Coordinator at the Rome-Floyd County Parks and Recreation Department for three years, and taught the very first swim lessons offered by the RFPRD. Lincee attended Georgia Highlands College and holds multiple fitness certifications including Group Exercise @ the Y (Offered By ACE), Schwinn Cycling Instructor, BARRE Above Instructor, TRX Instructor Certification and is American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certified.


Crystal Stewart

Crystal joined the Rome YMCA in 2019 with over six years experience as a certified fitness trainer. She is an International Sports and Science Association Certified Fitness Trainer and a Certified Functional Strength Coach. She is also a Certified Instructor in Barre, Jillian Michaels BodyShred and a HKC Kettlebell Instructor. Crystal also holds a Precision Nutrition 1 Coach certification. Prior to making fitness and nutrition her full time career, she worked in sales and customer service. Crystal is passionate about helping people find wellness through exercise and nutrition. Crystal holds an Associate Degree in Marketing Management from Georgia Northwestern Technical College.

Kristen joined the Rome YMCA in 2015 as Director of Finance and Human Resources. Her prior experience includes 13 years in banking and three years leading a family and children's ministry at a local church. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business with Minor in Economics from Lenior-Rhyne University. Kristen serves as treasurer of the YMCA Professional Network, Chapter 28 and is a graduate of the Rome-Floyd Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Rome Program.


Chase Watterson


Director of Recreational Soccer

Chase joined the Rome YMCA in 2013 as the Director of Recreational Soccer, after being affiliated with the Y for several years as a player and a volunteer coach. Prior to joining the Y staff, he worked as a mental health case worker, substance abuse counselor, social services investigator and guardian ad litem and volunteer coordinator with the juvenile court system. Chase graduated from Shorter University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Social Service. He holds a G, F and E coaching license from the U.S. Youth Soccer Association.
