Scott McCreless

In 1992, Scott joined the Rome YMCA as the Physical Director and managed its fitness programs, day camp and soccer programs. Grizzard Park, our youth sports complex, was built in 1997 and with Scott's leadership, Arsenal Rome Soccer grew into a major youth development program of the Rome Y. In 2007, Scott was promoted to Executive Director. Under his direction, the Rome YMCA has grown in membership, member programs, youth sports programs, and community-based programs and community partnerships. Scott graduated from West Georgia College with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, with a concentration in Corporate Health. He holds numerous nationally recognized YMCA certifications including Organizational Leadership and Team Leadership. In addition to his responsibilities as the Executive Director, Scott coaches several teams in the Arsenal Rome Soccer program and holds a National Youth Soccer license from the U.S. Youth Soccer Association, as well as E, F and D coaching licenses.
Stephanie McElhone
Director of Community Development

Stephanie came to the Rome YMCA in 2013 with over 20 years experience in marketing and development for non-profit organizations. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech with a major in Finance and a minor in Business Writing, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Strategic Planning from the University of Alabama. From the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University, Stephanie was awarded the professional designation of Trust Based Relational Intervention Practitioner.
Jessica Brummett
Director of Development

Jessica joined the Rome YMCA staff as Director of Development in January 2025 bringing with her over 30 years of non-profit fundraising and development experience. She holds a Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology from State University of New York at Potsdam and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida State University.
Jessica is married, has one daughter and two AMAZING grandchildren, Wyatt and McKenna.
Maria Ely

Maria joined the YMCA of Rome and Floyd County in August 2026. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting and a master's degree in Business Administration, and brings more than 20 years of professional experience to her role at the YMCA.
Maria is excited to be part of an organization whose mission and values align closely with her own. The YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are values that are deeply meaningful to her and that she strives to reflect in both her professional and personal life. She is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to an organization that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, and the community.
Maria is married and is the proud mother of two sons, Elijah and Micah. Maria and her family are active members of Legacy Church, where her faith plays an important role in her life and her desire to serve others.
Chris Green
Grizzard Park Director
Chris joined the Rome Y in 2023 with over 18 years of experience in a manufacturing settings. His areas of experience include data analysis, troubleshooting of multiple systems and processes, and quality control processes. Additionally, he has technical proficiency in electrical systems, welding, machine operation and ???
Chris will oversee all Grizzard Park operations to include the Vernon and Gaynelle Grizzard YMCA.
