Lucas Levesque

Lucas Levesque came to the YMCA Arsenal Rome Soccer Club as the Director of Coaching in the fall of 2017 after a successful 14 year stint as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. While at UMFK, Levesque led his team to an overall record of 206-36-8 and his teams won 7 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) titles during an 8 year span. He was inducted into the UMFK Hall of Fame in 2018 and the USCAA Hall of Fame in 2022.  He was the NAIA Regional Coach of the Year in 2010 and the USCAA National Coach of the Year in 2015. 
 
Academically, Levesque has a Bachelor's Degree from Thomas College (ME) and a Master's Degree in Leadership and Organizational Studies from the University of Southern Maine. As a player at Thomas College, he earned first team all-conference honors all three seasons there and led the league with 20 goals in 1999. Levesque also has his National and Advanced National Soccer Diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches Qssociation. He resides in Rome with his wife and two daughters. 

 

Katelyn Alverson


Soccer Operations and Administrative Coordinator

Katelyn has been a member of the YMCA Arsenal Rome staff since 2021 in the role of Soccer Operations and Administrative Coordinator. She has played soccer her whole life and played competitively at Shorter University (NCAA Division II) between 2012-2015. 

She has extensive coaching experience starting back when she was in high school. After college she coached at YMCA Arsenal Rome, Concord Fire Soccer Club and Augusta Arsenal, before returning to YMCA Arsenal Rome in 2021. She received her US Soccer D Coaching License in 2023 and has completed coerver training diplomas as well as special topic diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches Association. 

Academically, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Shorter University and her Master’s degree in Neuroscience from Augusta University. She resides in Rome with her husband and son.

 

Edgar Blanco


Academy Director/ Director of Recreational Soccer

Edgar Blanco has been coaching since 2019 and has been working full-time with Arsenal since 2021 where he began as a director of our rec program and an academy coach. Early in his coaching journey, he spent three years as a community coach in Rome, helping grow the game at the local level.

Along with coaching club and high school soccer, Edgar has over six years of experience coaching futsal, where he focuses on developing technical skills, creativity, and quick decision-making.

Edgar holds a USSF D License, a United Soccer Coaches Youth Academy Director Diploma, a Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma 1, and is CPR/AED certified.

As a player, Edgar started playing soccer at just four years old and grew up in the Arsenal program. He later played four years at Rome High School. Having experienced the club as both a player and coach, Edgar is passionate about giving players the same positive environment to learn, grow, and enjoy the game.

 

Chris Green


Director of Select Soccer/Grizzard Park Maintenance Director

Chris has been a member of the YMCA Rome Arsenal coaching staff since 2017 and more recently a full time staff member as Director of Maintenance for the YMCA and Grizzard Park starting in 2023. Chris is also on the coaching staff of the local Model High School girls soccer team. With nearly 20 years background in automotive manufacturing, Chris brings to the YMCA and Arsenal Club his process engineering, maintenance management, and operations managing experience. Chris cites this experience as key to his ability to organize, plan, train, develop, evaluate, and effectively communicate in his coaching roles. During his time with Arsenal, Chris has coached boys and girls teams ranging from U8 to U16 and has completed coerver training diplomas, multiple USSF courses including all grassroots, and most recently US Soccer D Coaching License in early 2024. 

 

Hannah Henn


YMCA Sports Coordinator/ Arsenal Coach

Hannah has been involved in competitive soccer since the age of nine, beginning her club career with Beadling SC and later participating in the Olympic Development Program (ODP). She continued her playing career at the collegiate level, spending one year at Daytona State College before competing for three years at Berry College. Hannah earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership. Since 2024, she has been coaching at Arsenal and holds a U.S. Soccer Grassroots License, bringing both playing experience and academic insight to her work with athletes.
