Arsenal Academy Soccer
Ready to step up your soccer experience? Arsenal Academy Soccer offers players a more structured and advanced soccer experience.
Arsenal Academy Soccer players practice twice each week. Each practice is 1 1/2 hours and practices are typically held on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evenings. The Arsenal Academy year is composed of two seasons: spring and fall. Formal tryouts are held in the spring and are administered by the Director of Coaching and Arsenal Academy coaches. Players are selected and teams are formed after the tryout period. We understand that sometimes a player may be unable to attend formal tryouts. Our coaching staff will work with each family to arrange a tryout schedule during the soccer year. Please contact Lucas Levesque at llevesque@ymcarome.org.
- Arsenal Academy Soccer is a one-year commitment to the program and the team.
- The Fall season runs from the beginning of August to the middle of November.
- The Spring season runs from the beginning of February to the middle of May.
- Arsenal Academy teams play other Academy teams from the area and around Georgia and require travel out of the Rome area.
- Teams also enter tournaments each season, some of which may require travel.
As you consider Arsenal Academy Soccer, please understand participation and attendance at practices, games, and tournaments are encouraged and rewarded. Player absences affect the team and other players, therefore we ask that regular attendance be a priority in your weekly schedule. Like all areas of the YMCA Arsenal Rome Soccer Program, our Academy strives to put Christian principles into practice through a soccer program that builds a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Arsenal Rome Soccer players represent the Club, both on and off the field, and are expected to maintain high standards of personal behavior. Arsenal Academy Cost
- $1,300 per player for both fall and spring seasons. The fee includes tryouts, team camp, YMCA and USSSA registrations, and trainer fees for one soccer year.
- The cost is $1200 if paid in full, or there is a $150 deposit and 10 monthly payments of $115. A card/bank account will be required for payments and everyone will be on automatic payments.
- $200 Estimated Uniform Cost- Players selected for the Arsenal Academy Program purchase their uniforms which will be used through spring season 2026. Uniform purchases are made through soccer.com.
- Tournament fees for 3 tournaments are included in the price for the season.

Arsenal Select Soccer
Arsenal Select Soccer provides outstanding development opportunities for the player-driven to improve their personal skills and team play.
YMCA Arsenal Rome Select Soccer programs are designed for boys and girls in the U13 – U19 age groups who desire a highly competitive level of play. Our players are comprised of the strongest young men and women from all over the region. Our nationally licensed coaching staff has extensive experience at many levels, including three coaches with over 200 college wins each. Our focus on player development is ideal preparation for high school, college, and the Olympic Development Program (ODP). Our number one goal is to prepare players for the next level.
- Arsenal Select teams train two times each week.
- Players have the opportunity to add another night of training from our staff upon request.
- Arsenal Select teams play weekend matches against teams from other clubs around Georgia and the surrounding area. Our schedule is a good balance of home and away matches during the season.
- Additionally, teams may choose to participate in various local or regional tournaments.
- Travel to games and tournaments is required for all Arsenal Select players and is often facilitated by ride-sharing and carpooling within each team.
Positions on Arsenal Select teams are competitively awarded based on skill level and other attributes demonstrated during tryouts. Arsenal Select holds open tryouts where interested players are evaluated by our coaching and training staff. Please understand, by the very nature of the tryout and evaluation process, not every player will be offered a position on an Arsenal Select team. We urge players who are not selected to take advantage of Arsenal’s Recreational program, supplemental training opportunities, and soccer camps to advance their skills and prepare for next year’s tryouts.
As you consider Arsenal Select Soccer, please understand participation and attendance at practices, games, and tournaments are mandatory. All absences should be communicated well in advance to the coaching staff. Players on the U15 - U19 teams will only play the fall season so that players do not have conflicts with their high school season. The fall season runs from the beginning of August to the end of November.

- Tournament fees for 2 tournaments are included in the price for the season.
