We are excited to announce that we are using a new communication and scheduling tool called PlayerSpace! When you register your child for Youth Basketball, the first four questions that are required will connect your account to a PlayerSpace account. Please answer the questions accurately. After you register you will receive a “Welcome to PlayerSpace” email with your login credentials. This email will come through closer to the start of the season, so please be on the lookout for it!
We will use this platform to put your child on a team and schedule their practices and games. Your coach will also be able to communicate with you through this platform. You will receive notifications about weather changes and field location updates.
We are excited about the opportunity to use this platform and how it will streamline communication, so please check this platform regularly!

FUN FACT:
In 1891, a YMCA program director named Luther Gulick asked James Naismith, a gym teacher at the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Mass., to invent a new indoor sport. Gulick wanted an activity to keep students fit and limber during the winter months. Naismith hung two peach baskets from the bottom of an elevated running track, posted a list of 13 simple rules, and basketball was born.
The YMCA students loved the game so much, they couldn’t wait for Christmas break and the opportunity to teach it to others in their hometowns. The game quickly gained popularity nationwide. The first official rules were published in January 1892, and the rest is hoop history.
