COVID-19 Information

We are excited to welcome our members and program participants to our facilities at East Second Avenue and Grizzard Park. It is our goal to provide a clean and safe environment for you to enjoy.

Please STAY HOME if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath) or have had contact with a person that has or is suspected to have COVID-19.

Please take a few minutes to re-read and review our guidelines and procedures. At this time, COVID-19 remains a significant health concern in our community and it is imperative that we all follow the guidelines and procedures outlined below.

At the Second Avenue Facility:

A YMCA Staff Member will take your temperature before you are allowed to enter the building. If your temperature is 100.4 or higher, you will not be allowed to enter the facility.

We encourage you to use the hand sanitizer that is available before you enter the facility.

Members will be required to wear a mask to enter the facility and in all common areas where other members are present and whenever you are walking to and from the area where you will be working out. Masks do not have to be worn during your workout, but we recommend wearing a mask whenever safely possible to limit the spread of germs. Staff will wear protective masks at all times. Please bring a mask with you.

You will be required to maintain a six-foot social distance. Staff will monitor this distance and ask members to comply with this requirement as needed.

You should sanitize equipment before and after each use. Disinfecting wipes and/or sanitizing spray and paper towels will be stationed near the equipment for this task.

At Grizzard Park:

Coaches and staff will wear masks when not socially distanced from players during all training and games.

Upon arrival for games or practices, all players and staff will have their temperature checked. If your temperature is 100.4 or higher, you will not be allowed to remain at Grizzard Park.

Please remember to maintain a six-foot social distance. Players and coaches will not hold team huddles, or share share team gear such as training vests. Staff will monitor this distance and ask members to comply with this requirement as needed.

Group Fitness Classes

We are now offering 47 Group Fitness Classes each week!

We have been, and will continue to be, very intentional structuring classes for your health and safety, and the health and safety of our community. We are strictly following the guidelines and requirements for gyms and group fitness classes, as mandated by the State of Georgia. These guidelines include, but are not limited to:

  • Capacity guidelines based on square footage of individual spaces and the facility as a whole
  • A 10-foot minimum space requirement between group fitness participants
  • Cleaning requirements of rooms between classes

Please remember, members are required to check-in to group fitness classes through the designated check-in line on the front porch of the Y. Should you arrive more than 30 minutes prior to your classes start time, please plan to wait in line.  If you are in the Y exercising in other areas or taking another class, you must exit the building and join this line so that you may check-in.  Please do not enter group fitness areas early to set up equipment or reserve a space.

If you have questions or concerns regarding our group fitness classes or these guidelines, please reach out to our Healthy Living Director, Lincee Powell at to schedule a time to speak with her.
